This office is usually located in the area prior to security at leading to Immigration or the Departure gates. Registering your goods is not compulsory however, should you not register your valuables or be able to provide proof of purchase prior to your departure you may be liable for import duties or a fine. Please refer to www.sars.gov.za for further information.

CHANGES TO AIR TICKETS AND NO SHOW PENALTIES
If changes are made to flights prior to departure, this will require the recalculation of the entire airfare. Penalties and additional taxes as well as upgrades may need to be collected. Changes made to a ticket once travel has commenced will be subject to availability and may attract penalties and require upgrading. Airlines will charge a NO SHOW FEE if you fail to check in for your scheduled flight. Your ticket may be non-refundable if not cancelled or changed before departure.
If you amend your existing ticket your baggage allowance may also change.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
Our Emergency contact number is 083 629 4459. Please ensure we have yours when you travel.
BAGGAGE
Your baggage allowance will vary according to the airline, class of travel and the routing you have chosen. Most Discounted airfares and airlines do not allow free checked baggage allowance. Please ensure you are familiar with the baggage allowance permitted on your quotation prior to authorising the issuance of the ticket.
Hand luggage restrictions depend on the airline but generally should not exceed 5-7KG - please confirm with the specific airlines included in your itinerary.
Airlines will charge for excess baggage. It may be cheaper to purchase additional baggage prior to check in.
Booking separate tickets may affect your baggage allowance. Please ensure you are familiar with the baggage allowance for each ticket.
Travelling to the USA – Specific locks are required for travel in the USA
DUTY FREE CUSTOMS ALLOWANCES
Please ensure you are familiar with the Customs Duty and Duty Free allowance for your specific country of destination as well as those for your return to SA. https://www.sars.gov.za/customs-and-excise/travellers/arrival-in-sa/
DOWNLOAD TRAVEL SERVICE PROVIDER APPS & AIRLINE ONLINE CHECK-IN
We highly recommend that you download the airline or Travel Service Provider app and upload your travel details. Cruise Lines in particular use apps which greatly enhance your experience with them. Airline check-in online should be done wherever possible. This process includes essential information and should be done by the traveller themselves – not a third party – and may be done using the Travel Service Providers app or websites. Airline Online check ins are usually available 24 hours before the departure time of your flight but please check with each airline.
AIRPORT CHECK-IN TIMES
TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC recommend an airport check-in time of 4 hours prior to departure for international flights and 2 hours check-in time for South African domestic flights. These are a guide only and may vary at any time due to security and other factors at the airport. DOMESTIC CHECKIN CLOSES STRICTLY 45 MNUTES PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. International Checkin normally closes 2 - 3 hours prior to departure. We recommend all flights are reconfirmed at least 72 hours prior to departure. Although this is not normally mandatory there are frequent schedule changes which may result in missed connections.
FLIGHT CONNECTIONS
TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC recommends a minimum 4 hours connecting time between flights and at least 5 hours for connecting flights within the USA. You must utilise your flight coupons in the sequence that they were originally booked and displayed on your ticket. Should you miss your connection the airline may cancel the remaining sectors and you will be required to purchase a new ticket at your own expense. If separate tickets are issued, neither airline will be responsible for missed connections due to the late arrival of your inbound flight.
RECONFIRM YOUR FLIGHTS
Once your journey has commenced, onward flight times and routings may change. Please ensure you are aware of the most current status of your flights. The Airline apps are ideal for this purpose. TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC will not be held responsible for missed onward flights.
SCHEDULE CHANGES BY THE AIRLINE
Any schedule or routing changes made by the airline are beyond the control of TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC we therefore cannot be held responsible for these changes.
SPECIAL REQUESTS
Please advise TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC consultant of any special requests you may have such as seating, meals, bassinets, wheelchairs etc. We will request these from the supplier or airline and are dependent on them fulfilling the service. These requests are never guaranteed and may be subject to availability and additional charges.
HOTEL & CAR RENTAL SECURITY DEPOSITS
Most hotels globally will require a security deposit at time of check in which is usually done by placing a pre authorisation hold on your card which will be released a few days after your departure should there be no incidental charges incurred.
LOCAL CITY TAX
Some countries may charge a City tax which is only payable, in cash, on arrival at your hotel or on departure at the airport and cannot be paid prior to departure. Amounts vary from one city to another so please make enquiries on arrival at your destination.
DRIVERS LICENSE/CAR HIRE
If you are hiring a car/motorbike or any type of transportation vehicle in another country or within South Africa, you will need a valid driver's license for that category of vehicle.
It is our recommendation that you always travel overseas with an International Driver's License obtainable from your local Automobile Association (AA) as there may be Insurance implications.
Minimum age for car hire is 21 years old, sometimes older, depending on the country you will be driving in. There may be a maximum age limit.
The driver of the vehicle must hold a valid credit card in their name to produce on collection of the vehicle as you will be asked to pay a deposit on the vehicle over and above the car hire charge.
Please ensure you take out Excess Waiver Cover and any additional cover as may be necessary at the time of collection of your vehicle.
Please specify at the time of booking if you require additional services such as a baby/child seat for the rental vehicle. Car seats are compulsory for all children under the age of 3 years in South Africa and may be mandatory in other countries.
REFUNDS
The Airline and/or 3rd party Travel Service Providers hold any monies you have paid for their services - not TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC, therefore refunds can take up to 6 weeks or more and will always be at the suppliers discretion. Airlines all have varying policies regarding refunds therefore TRAVEL INC & CRUISE INC cannot guarantee any refund. We will apply for the refund on your behalf but will only be able to advise the amount – if any - once this is indicated to us by the supplier. We reserve the right to charge cancellation fees as well as pass on those cancellation charges levied by the airlines and third party suppliers. Most airport taxes are not refundable and will be determined by the individual airline concerned.
PASSPORTS
Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months AFTER you return from your trip.
Please ensure you have 2 - 3 consecutive blank pages in your passport when you travel.
Dual Citizenship passport holders must carry both passports when travelling abroad. It is a Home Affairs regulation that SA Passport holders must use their valid SA passport when leaving SA and when re-entering South Africa. Your foreign passport may only be used to enter and depart your country of destination.
Foreign Passport holders who are Permanent Residents - not a Citizen - ARE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL WITH THE ORIGINAL PERMANENT RESIDENCY CERTIFICATE OR COPY CERTIFIED WITHIN THE PAST 3 MONTHS
